The design object exposed: The reconfiguration of the everyday experience

Beyond the opposition between objects considered works of art and those considered just for use, a design object has the particularity of maintaining an ambivalent status. In an effort to improve this definition, we are interested in the experience that surrounds the design object, and in different contexts. Through an observation of the design object staged in the context of exhibition events, we will try to highlight the process of building additional symbolic dimensions. More precisely, we aim to explore the tension that results from opposing its spatial contextualization during events and that in everyday life. How does this reconfigure the imaginary and what impact could it have on the everyday experience? The transposition of the visual trope to the experiential trope will be our main methodological tool to explain this mechanism.
