The city creates images that stimulate a collective imaginary. The passer-by discovers it according to his feelings, to a perception of his own. The city is for him, the theater of the encounter between the profane and the sacred, the private and the public, the intimate and the extimate, etc., it allows a structuring of his exchanges within the urban setting and thus offers a multiplicity of scenarios feeding several narrative possibilities. It becomes relevant, by posing the sociabilities and spatialities of the city as instituting of these imaginaries, to look into the possibilities offered by artistic production in public space in the formation of new collective narratives. This article will study two very distinct examples of artistic mediations applied to public space to observe the changes they bring to urban ambiances and see if they promote the emergence of true urban spatialities within the city.
