First published in 1877, it enjoyed great success for several decades and led to four film and television adaptations, from 1924 to 1980, which this article intends to study. These four adaptations were very different in both their form and in the way they chose to recreate G. Bruno’s textbook, its fiction, and its educational content. Le Tour de la France was thus reworked in order to suit the adapters’ visions.
