The creative turn in Detroit (United States) is accompanied by a narrative turn that primarily concerns techno music and its African American pioneers, generating a discourse of rehabilitation and an effort to build the legacy of, or to patrimonialize, the techno movement as a whole. In the media and via media devices such as the radio, documentary films, and museum spaces, storytellers, stakeholders, and representatives (re)value the Black contribution to Detroit (Black Detroit) in a context of cultural industries that have not always properly considered this contribution.
