The nonverbal expression of intuition in a young child may be used as a mediator and a stimulator for the discovery of dark areas in the family, and as a facilitating element for the construction of hypotheses by the therapist. It is a spiraling co-evolution of the family and the therapist. What benefits can therapists draw from the presence of young children? How can they mobilize the resources of their siblings, and in the meantime give an opportunity for growth and development to all the members of the family? The frequent therapy with families with young children enabled us to acknowledge “the child within the adult,” as well as the effort to restore the clients’ transgenerational bond. It enables also the development of the therapist’s style and the maximization of the benefit of their emotional intelligence. How can we use the analogical language and the metaphorical material in order to reach the suffering of “the child within the adult”? Special attention will be given to the situations of consultation with the pediatrician: “the consultancy.”
