The demand for family therapy for these families is also increasing. However, there are few works on this subject from a systemic point of view. This article describes the diversity of single-parent families and their problems. These families are often stigmatized as undesirable and irregular families. However, like other kinds of families, single-parent families are systems allowing a favorable evolution of their members.

For the last twenty years the percentage of single-parent families has been constantly increasing. The demand for family therapy for these families is also increasing.
