The article considers the questions relative to the benefits and the possible obstacles of network practice in the field of abuse through the example of “SOS-Children” teams. These teams are from the beginning at the interface of various systems in light of their expertise and their objectives of care and protection of the child. It is useless to engage as the only therapist or team in the clinical approach to abuse—as the emotional demands are significant and these shaken families raise massive defenses—and be caught in a significant dysfunctional homeostasis and become fixed in a relationship of opposition with the therapists. When implemented in a constructive and benevolent way in a relationship of trust between structures, network practice allows for a real mobilization of the family system and the recovery of its functions. Both perspectives in dialogue are essential to ensure as much objectivity as possible in the diagnosis, to assess opportunities for recovery and the most appropriate treatment for the family, as well as to avoid the possible pitfalls of previous interventions.
