Young Adults’ Mental Exhaustion: A Systemic Perspective

Numerous healthcare professionals have seen the number of consultations of adults in “burnout” shooting up over the past years. We are, however, struck by their young age and the increasing arrival of students, who seem to present the same symptoms as their elders: they are removed from school, demotivated, tired, desocialized, disenchanted, indifferent to everything, often suicidal. This article proposes a systematic look at this phenomenon from about twenty situations encountered in our private office, to be able to, in a later article, establish therapeutic interventions from these analyses.
