Since 2006, the law in Belgium allows same-sex couples to have children. Thus, psychosocial workers are now facing a reality that challenges them and requires them to intervene in terms of the provision of counselling, psychoeducation, raising awareness in schools conferences, training... Using the focus group method, the present research has investigated the attitudes of psychosocial workers in family counseling centers toward same-sex parenting. The results showed several dimensions: the challenges they face, their experiences and their feelings, their questions and their needs. These results may help to improve the health and quality of life of homosexuals, while promoting an understanding of the reactions of the heterosexual professionals they face.
