Providing evidence of interdisciplinarity: Goals, interpretations, adjustments

This article aims to examine the ways in which researchers respond to a demand for interdisciplinarity and disciplinary excellence. The object of the research is to symmetrically study the efforts for construction of an interdisciplinary recognition, which questions the disciplinary inscription, and the ways of its evaluation. The article develops a pragmatic perspective focusing on the judgment (of disciplinary quality and interdisciplinarity) and its anticipations. For this purpose we analyze a series of interviews, scientific productions, observations and evaluation reports. We have described this process as a willingness to support the one who evaluate the codification of the tests. The fragility of interdisciplinarity consensus makes it impossible to build stable support. It appears difficult to maintain the quality of a research when the tests that this anticipation a priori allows to study are not clearly defined.
