Among the questions dealt with during the General Assembly of Social Work, the place of “service users” drew much attention. The use of the term was itself questioned. But beyond questions of vocabulary, reconstructing relations between professionals in social work and people concerned was debated from the point of view of citizenship. Maintaining people’s rights is not the only necessary condition to guarantee solidarity and the quality of social work. The debates on this theme were a significant step in the evolution of support practices.
