Three complementary approaches to the concept of service are described in this article. The first approach considers services rendered to users that result from the person’s wishes, rights, and the quality of care offered. The second considers services in the community which take the form of mobile teams working in homes and in everyday environments. The third considers services managed from a single platform, comprising several agencies offering a variety of forms of care, enabling people in vulnerable situations to benefit from continuity in their care. In this last case, several legislative and administrative measures and methods are necessary to make service users’s itineraries more joined-up, by better connecting the different segments of their care programs.
