This first article offers a conceptual framework for terms commonly used by modern public policy, researchers, and social work professionals. It is interesting to set the conditions under which this vocabulary appeared in its social context. A brief discussion of the concepts of “trajectory,” “bifurcation,” and “rupture” shows that they are still being constructed. These terms cover important political and social issues, ones that shed light on the contributions to this issue of Vie sociale.
