The participation of people using services and families in training: The experience of the school of social work at the Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec

In the fall of 2015, the School of Social Work at the Université de Sherbrooke chose to develop the participation of service users and families in its professional development path that leads to the bachelor’s degree in social work after three years’ study. As various European experiences show, this choice involves several challenges. The experience at Sherbrooke takes place in an institutional context very different from that of France, as no legal framework is available to support this orientation.
