More than 10 million people in our country cannot meet their basic needs by their own means. For decades, Secours populaire français has been mobilizing all possible energies, from all origins and backgrounds, so that malnutrition, food insufficiency, and the anguish of hunger are no longer the dread of poor families. Tens of thousands of people are inventing every conceivable form of collection to acquire what is necessary and make it available to those who urgently need it. Public authorities in France, as in Europe, contribute to this effort in their own way. But nothing can replace the warm relationship between human beings, which is cemented by unconditional solidarity and which makes people proud to reduce anxiety and misfortune. This approach of equals has always been that of Secours populaire français. The article presented here gauges its implementation.
