The article presents and analyzes the poetological writings and critical essays of Lutz Seiler (born 1963 in the GDR) published in 2004 in Sonntags dachte ich an Gott. Considering the relationship between lyrical subject, memory and History, Seiler’s poetics don’t fit with the common ideas of GDR-poetry or ex-GDR-poetry. At the opposite, it keeps the memory of history and places, without excluding an absolute lyrical subject with a so to say magical relationship to the world.

Der Aufsatz untersucht die poetologischen Texte und andere Essays des Bandes Sonntags dachte ich an Gott (2004) von Lutz Seiler und die Beziehung zwischen lyrischem Ich, Zeit und Geschichte. Es stellt sich heraus, dass Seilers Poetik sich nicht eindeutig in vorgegebene Vorstellungen der DDR-Lyrik oder Ex-DDR-Lyrik einordnen lässt, sondern dass sie die Erfahrung der Geschichte und der Orte erinnert, ohne auf eine Tendenz zur Verabsolutierung des lyrischen Ich in seiner quasi magischen Beziehung zur Welt zu verzichten.
