Cet article a pour objectif de penser l’accompagnement psychologique de la conjugalité en service de médecine procréative. La mise en sens de la sexualité du couple a souvent tendance à achopper sur le constat d’infertilité, la rendant potentiellement inutile. Le protocole médical et ses injonctions renvoient alors plus au corps « fonctionnel » qu’à sa dimension libidinale. La présentation du cas de Léna et Paul illustre ce désinvestissement du conjugal au profit du surinvestissement d’un « devenir parent », non sans conséquences sur la dynamique familiale instaurée, une fois l’enfant né.

This article considers the role of psychological support of the conjugal relationship as a part of reproductive medicine. Attempts to understand the couple’s sexual relationship are often confronted with the impasse of an expression of infertility. In this case, the medical protocol and its injunctions relate more to the “functional” body than to its libidinal dimension. The presentation of Lena and Paul’s case illustrates this disinvestment from the conjugal relationship in parallel with an over--investment in “becoming a parent,” which has consequences for the family dynamics that are established once the child is born.
