Comment définir et caractériser l’innovation sociale dans le champ du travail social ? Alternative à l’approche technologique, elle conceptualise la mise en œuvre de projets à fort impact social pour renforcer l’idéal démocratique. Grâce à la littérature internationale, le concept d’innovation en travail social apparaît comme une solution pour articuler de nouvelles réponses du travail social, tout en renforçant ses valeurs. Cet article est une proposition théorique et pratique pour caractériser les projets d’innovation en travail social, au service des travailleurs sociaux et des bénéficiaires.

How is social innovation in the field of social work defined and characterized? An alternative to the technological approach, the concept is defined as the implementation of projects with significant social impact in order to strengthen democratic ideals. The international literature has enabled the concept of innovation in social work to be seen as a solution for articulating new responses to this work, while reinforcing its values. This article offers theoretical and practical proposals for characterizing social work innovation projects, for the benefit of social workers and clients.
