Après avoir défini les notions d’intersubjectivité et d’empathie, l’auteur, en se fondant sur les travaux des psychanalystes et de psychologues du développement et en rappelant les apports de quelques illustres prédécesseurs, approfondit ces notions qui trouvent un regain d’intérêt depuis la découverte des neurones miroirs et l’étude des phénomènes d’imitation. À la conception structurale se fondant sur l’expérience et l’identification à l’autre dans le miroir, conception assez statique, succède aujourd’hui une conception dynamique, fondée sur l’évolution temporelle et rythmique de la relation interactive volontiers comparée à la danse ou à la musique. Les incidences sur la conception de la psychothérapie et les dérives possibles sont évoquées en conclusion.

After defining the notions of intersubjectivity and empathy, the author, considering the work of psychoanalysts and development psychologists, looks deeper into these notions which have gained renewed interest since the discovery of mirror neurons and the study of imitation phenomena. The structural conception based on experience and the identification with the other in the mirror, a rather static conception, has been followed up today with a dynamic conception based on a temporal and rhythmical evolution of the interactive relationship voluntarily compared to dance or music. The way in which the conception of psychotherapy has impacted and the trends possible are evoked in conclusion.
