Comment la production industrielle massive d’animaux domestiques en vue de nourrir les hommes organise-t-elle une mort sans sensibilité et sans respect de l’animal ? Cette mort industrielle a-t-elle un lien avec la sensibilité exprimée envers les animaux de compagnie et de leur mort ?

From the Industrial Slaughter of Animals to the Loss of Pets. Examining the Consequences of a Deathly Society ?This paper studies the relations between death, animals and human beings within the framework of our deathly society and in doing so addresses a number of questions. First, why does our society exclude death and what does this tell us about the meaning of life ? Then, how is it that the massive industrial production of animals to feed the population results in a form of death from which all sensitivity and respect for animals has been excluded ? What links may we identify between the industrial slaughtering of animals and the sensibility expressed when our pets die ?
