RésuméParfois, l’ethnologue se place dans l’entre-terrain, sollicite l’inconfort des textes, des photographies, des œuvres d’art. Quel statut accorder à la « vérité » de ces fictions ? Pour répondre à cette interrogation, l’article se propose de s’arrêter sur des nouvelles écrites par Irène Nemirovsky, juive exilée, ayant vécu en France et morte en camp de concentration. En tant qu’écrivain, Irène Nemirovsky manie le langage et, paradoxalement, sera soumise au silence. Quatre de ses nouvelles permettront d’explorer les secrets familiaux et d’interroger l’intrusion du biographique et de la fiction. Elles témoignent de la façon dont les effets du silence se manifestent dans l’écriture et dont les effets psychiques et sociaux du non-dit contraindront l’œuvre littéraire.

The ethnologist sometimes places himself in an « interfield », exposes himself to the discomfort of texts, photographs, art works. What is the « truth » of these works ? To answer this question the article examines short stories by Irène Nemirovsky, a Jew exiled in France and dead in a concentration camp. As a writer she works with the language and paradoxically will be forced into silence. Four of her short stories explore family secrets and raise the question of the autobiographical content in the fiction. They show how the style of writing accentuates the effects of this silence and how the literary work is pervaded by the psychical and social effects of the unsaid.

ZusammenfassungManchmal stellt sich der Ethnologe in einem Zwischenfeld, setzt sich der Unbequemlichkeit der Texten, Fotografien und Kunstwerke aus. Welches ist die « Wahrheit » dieser Werke ? Um diese Frage zu beantworten studiert die Autorin die Novellen Irène Nemirovskys, einer Juden, die im französischen Exil lebte und in einem Konzentrationslager starb. Als Schriftstellerin ging Irène Nemirovsky mit der Sprache um und wurde paradoxerweise zum Schweigen gebracht. Vier von ihren Novellen behandeln Familiengeheimnisse und stellen die Frage des autobiographischen Inhalts in der Fiktion. Durch ihre Schrift betonen sie die Auswirkungen dieses Schweigens und zeigen wie die psychischen und sozialen Auswirkungen des Ungesagten das literarische Werk überschwemmen.
