Il s’agit d’éclaircir le statut de l’amour, qui ne se réduit nullement à une relation imaginaire ou narcissique. Dès la naissance, le corps est soumis à une objectivation par la demande maternelle. C’est contre cette objectivation que le sujet lutte grâce à des métamorphoses successives. Il s’identifie d’abord aux objets qu’il aime, mais en courant le risque constant de disparaître dans cette opération. Il n’échappe à ce danger, qui le guettera tout au long de son existence, que grâce à ce mode de subjectivation particulière qu’est l’amour, en ce sens seul destin subjectivé de la pulsion qui assure sa permanence au refoulement. Ce sont ensuite les risques de l’amour et la relation au manque qu’il engendre qui suscitent de nouveaux problèmes.

The purpose of this article is to examine the status of love, which is not as simple as a narcissic or imaginary relationship. At the very moment of birth, the body has to respond to the mother’s demand. It’s against this objectivation that the subject is fighting using various type of metamorphosis. He is first identifying himself to the objects he likes, but at the constant stake to disappear in this operation. He escapes to this danger, (that he will confront all his life long), only by the way of this specific subjectivation of love, which is in this sense the only manner to subjectivise the drive, giving his chance to repression. Meanwhile, the risks of love and of the lack created by love will provoke new problems.
