L’acte analytique n’est pas l’application d’une théorie à une pratique. S’il y a une technique, elle procède du geste d’effacement, d’une passe qui ne s’invente pas, mais commande l’invention. C’est un geste sans parole, inaugural, qui enveloppe la durée d’une séance, un geste renouvelé, toujours à inventer. L’effacement de l’analyste répète la mise en scène du refoulement originaire, c’est-à-dire cet instant de perte de la jouissance originaire du corps au profit de la jouissance des mots, de leur poésie répétitive.

The psychoanalytic act is not the application of a theory to a practice. If there is a technique, it proceeds from a gesture of erasure, from a pass that is not invented but commands invention. This is an inaugural gesture that is not a word, and that envelops the duration of a session; it is a renewed gesture, always to be invented. The erasure of the analyst repeats the mise en scene of primal repression, that is to say the instance of loss of jouissance of the body to the profit of the jouissance of words, and of their repetitive poetry.
