Based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the criminal files of Yellow Vests arrested in Paris, this article aims to throw light on two possible uses of information regarding criminal records within the framework of a sociology of engagement: on the one hand, the construction of more detailed socio-biographies and, on the other, the highlighting of illegal demonstration practices linked to deviant knowledge.

À partir d’une analyse qualitative et quantitative des dossiers de Gilets jaunes arrêtés à Paris, cet article vise à éclairer deux usages possibles des informations relatives aux antécédents judiciaires dans le cadre d’une sociologie de l’engagement : la construction de sociobiographies plus fines d’un côté ; la mise au jour de pratiques manifestantes illégales liées à des savoirs déviants de l’autre.
