Some considerations are developed on the practice of transcription of recorded interviews. They are based on the practice of the Groupe Aixois de Recherche en Syntaxe and the critical notes published by the École de Psychanalyse Lacanienne about a critical transcription of one of Lacan’s seminars, “Le transfert.” For the psychoanalyst and even for the linguist, the orthographic transcription is based on discourse analysis. In the case of establishment of a corpus, this discourse analysis remains implicit; it presents peculiarities which are specific to this type of analysis but can nevertheless be compared and contrasted with the psychoanalyst’s understanding.
