RésuméEn matière d’information, de soutien psychologique, de rupture, les aidants informels souffrent souvent d’isolement, de la qualité de la coordination entre les différents professionnels intervenant à domicile. Une expérimentation montre une fois de plus que les proches familiaux souhaitent continuer de jouer leur rôle d’aidants. Il y a place pour des interventions innovantes de professionnels, car il ne s’agit pas alors de considérer uniquement une personne dépendante, mais un binôme aidant-aidé et renforcer l’aidant en lui apportant les ressources nécessaires pour précisément demeurer un aidant.Cette démarche rejoint celle de l’empowerment consistant à conforter des individus dans leur capacité d’agir. Dans cette perspective, aidants informels et aidants professionnels ne s’opposent pas, les aidants professionnels se repositionnant comme soutien des aidants informels.

Innovating to support informal caregiversIn what concerns information, psychological support, rupture, informal caregivers often suffer from isolation, from the quality of the coordination between the several professionals intervening at home. An experiment shows that once again near relatives wish to continue to play their role as caregivers. There is room for innovative professional interventions, for it is not, then, a matter of considering only a dependent person, but a helper-helped binomial and a question of reinforcing the caregiver by providing him with the necessary resources to precisely go on being a caregiver.That step rejoins the one of empowerment consisting in comforting individuals in their capacity to act. In this perspective, informal and professional caregivers do not oppose each other, the professional agents repositioning themselves as informal caregivers’ support.
