Is the Denial of Pregnancy a Denial?
Type de matériel :
33
A terminological misunderstanding around the confusion of denial of pregnancy, and the denial of schizophrenia reflects a certain discordance during high-profile trials like Véronique Courjault’s. Since Racamier, the denial of pregnancy has been viewed as a denial of certain qualities of the object: denial of conception, of bodily changes, of otherness, of the ongoing life process, and of the inevitability of childbirth. The end of such denials, which are neither negations nor partial denials, is likely to lead to a catastrophic improvisation of a neonaticide at the time of giving birth, which has never been anticipated.
