À partir de mes expériences de recherche, de travailleur social et de militant, je développe l’idée que pour mieux faire des bénéfices sur le travail social, l’État et les « entrepreneurs sociaux » doivent d’abord le transformer en une grande usine facile à gérer, et les travailleuses et travailleurs sociaux en ouvrières et ouvriers. Pourtant ces réflexions peuvent nous rappeler qu’à ce jeu, l’État a toujours eu du fil à retordre de la part de ce qu’on appelait le « mouvement ouvrier », et qu’on appelle désormais plutôt le « mouvement social ».

From my research experience, as a social worker and activist, I develop the idea that to make a better profit on social work, the State and the " social entrepreneurs " have to first transform it into a big factory easy to manage, and the social workers into factory workers. Yet, this way of thinking reminds us that the State has always had a hard time managing what we called the "labour movement", and what we now call from the " social movement ".
