Catholic institutions and associations have always been part of the landscape of philanthropy and/or charity. Their positioning in the unfinished work of the twentieth century is experiencing a doctrinal upheaval of faith coming from the ecclesiastical institutions themselves. From comprehensive interviews with individuals in the Catholic nonprofit sector, the author examines the place and the logics underlying the renewal of charitable solidarity in the field of support for vulnerable people.

Les institutions et associations catholiques ont toujours fait partie du paysage de la charité et/ou du caritatif. Leur positionnement au XXe siècle dans le reste à faire connaît une secousse doctrinale de la foi venant des institutions ecclésiastiques elles-mêmes. A partir d’entretiens compréhensifs avec des acteurs du secteur associatif catholique, l’auteur interroge la place et les logiques qui sous-tendent le renouveau de la solidarité caritative dans le champ de l’accompagnement des personnes vulnérables.
