The activity of mobile palliative care teams reveals the contradictions and difficulties within the hospital world and the changes affecting health facilities overall. The place of pain and suffering, as well as the meaning given to the end of life, are also profoundly affected. In this context, we will focus on the specific intrapsychic and intersubjective issues at stake in the activities of these caregivers. After clarifying the nature of the suffering they have to deal with in their clinical work and their relations with other professionals, we will explore how the psychic work carried out by the team questions the temporality of psychic processes. In this context, a rhythmic regulation of the movements of life and death is developed with a collective anticipation of loss.
