The relationship to the object in clinical situations with people at risk: In favour of a transversal approach

This reflection on the status of the object is based on the clinical experience of a mobile team of psychologists working with migrant subjects. The authors are interested in the creative possibilities of this clinical experience and discuss the complexity of the relationship to the other who is at risk, when only a few fortuitous meetings seem possible. The symptom, linked to an impossible desire for the subject at risk, makes it possible to reverse this frozen desire. Thus, through the attention given here to the life journey of roaming subjects and to the burdens that they carry, we question the habitual modes of exchange in culture. This opening takes into account an anthropological, historical and cultural dimension of the links between a subject and his “trajectories”.
