Faced with the stumbling blocks of offering individual treatment to violent subjects in dire psycho-social circumstances, it was necessary to look for the most appropriate setting to facilitate the emergence of these psychic traces, their expression in words and their elaboration. To this end, it was necessary to try to understand the effects in the psyches, from the oldest to the youngest, of the current period, which is most often described as one of incomplete decolonialization and very specific to this archipelago of the South pacific. It was a matter of finding/creating a discussion group within the child and youth legal protection service, with the backing of the customary Kanaky Senate. One of the aims was to open up a humanizing pathway for a few juvenile delinquents, providing them with experience and the taste for a new way of exchanging words. The group that we set up is with others is plural with regard to cultural and social belonging and age groups. It provides the opportunity of meeting others in an “intermediate transcultural space”. It offers an accessible platform that makes it possible to advance along the long route of establishing a healthy narcissism and of transforming what have undoubtedly been traumatic experiences.
