“Arab peoples: From the dynamics of failure to self-destruction”

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2019. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This article constitutes a review of the causes of different clashes of opinions between Arab regimes and, more broadly, between Arab intellectuals. The author has identified nine successive historical sources of clashes or discord that have dragged the Arab World from the dynamics of failure to the dynamics of self-destruction, which we have witnessed since the beginning of the present decade. The current Yemeni war is an illustration of this state of Arab affairs, not to mention what is happening in Syria, Libya, and to a lesser extent Iraq, as well as, on the periphery of the Arab world, Somalia. The author of this article concludes that it is high time in the Arab world to stop the permanent and obsessional polarization about religion, so as to be able to discuss the ways and means for the Arab world to master modern science and technology and to fight effectively against the mass unemployment of young Arabs, a phenomenon that facilitates recruitment by terrorist organizations.
