Cet article, basé sur un travail de terrain ethnographique réalisé aux États-Unis et en France, explore la médecine intégrative et son potentiel pour améliorer la réponse aux besoins de santé contemporains en France. Basé sur un entretien avec Lori Knutson, directrice générale du Duke Integrative Medicine Center à Durham, en Caroline du Nord, il fournit une définition de ce qu’est la médecine intégrative, de son organisation aux États-Unis et de la manière dont elle est bien placée pour répondre aux préoccupations financières et de santé publique du système de santé français. Il représente également une piste possible pour la propagation de la médecine intégrative en France.

This article, based on ethnographic fieldwork in the United States and France, explores Integrative Medicine and its potential to ameliorate the response to the contemporary healthcare needs in France. Based on an interview with Lori Knutson, the Executive Director of the Duke Integrative Medicine Center in Durham, North Carolina, it provides a definition of what Integrative Medicine is, how it is organized in the United States, and how it is well-positioned to respond to the financial and public health concerns currently facing the French healthcare system. It also presents one possible avenue for the propagation of Integrative Medicine in France.
