Type de matériel :
53
This article attempts to describe and analyze temporal and co-present forms specific to relationships of help conducted via instant messaging. More specifically, the aim is to define this technical system and assess the writing schemes that it configures. The analysis is based on a large collection of texts amounting to 57,000 pages. This collection retraces exchanges that took place between volunteers and long-suffering individuals via the instant messaging system of a suicide prevention organization. The conversations that take place between those who listen and those who are heard—that is to say between the organization’s volunteers and the users of the system—are at the heart of this study. The analysis of these conversations allows the observation and identification of some of the effects that this technical system has on our manner of being together remotely.
