This paper provides a critical assessment of a field experience carried out within the Toulouse organization Association Pour l’Initiative Autonome des Femmes (APIAF) (Association for the Autonomous Initiative of Women), which consisted of the organization of two creative workshops (writing and photography) for women who visit this place. Beyond the semiological analysis of the texts and images created within the framework of these workshops, this paper is also an opportunity to outline a reflection on the ways in which meaning is produced as the result of a negotiation with the “situated knowledge” of embodied actants, i.e., the actors, of a space of communication.
