L’objet de cet article est de «revisiter» vingt ans après, le concours d’idées sur le thème «architecture du grand âge» qui avait donné lieu à plusieurs créations à l’Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris, en particulier. L’auteur revient sur trois d’entre elles (deux réalisées à l’hôpital Charles-Foix, la troisième à Bretonneau) se posant plusieurs questions. La vie s’est-elle chargée de «rectifier» une architecture incomprise ou inadaptée? Le concept généreux d’il y a vingt ans a-t-il résisté ou s’est-il effondré? Les utilisateurs subissent-ils un concept inadapté? A-t-on tout cassé, déformé?

LOOKING BACK OVER ASERIES OF IDEAS ON OLD AGE The article aims at “revisiting” twenty years later, a series of ideas on the “architecture of old age” which had given birth to several ventures, in particular at the Assistance Publique Hôpitaux de Paris. The author goes back over three of them (two carried out at the Charles-Foix hospital, the third at Bretonneau) and wonders about several things. Has life taken charge of “rectifying” a misunderstood or inadaptable architecture? Has the generous concept of twenty years ago resisted or collapsed? Have the users been putting up with an inadaptable concept? Has everything been broken, disfigured?
