Even if imprisonment appears to be, for a number of subjects, favorable to their commitment to psychotherapeutic work, it still fundamentally remains a challenge. This article aims to consider the impacts of imprisonment on psychic functioning, the effects it has on the clinician in terms of countertransference, and the resulting implications in terms of the establishment of a therapeutic framework.
