Le développement des sciences cognitives s’est réalisé en jonction avec les découvertes faites en intelligence artificielle, en psychologie cognitive et en neurosciences. Toutefois, ces points de vue scientifiques ont toujours considéré la cognition d’un individu exemplaire, sublimé, et finalement immatériel. Pourtant l’étude de la communication humaine pousse à considérer la cognition de l’Autre dans toute sa particularité.

However, studies of human communication are pointing to the need to consider the cognition of otherness and its specificity.
