This paper takes up the concept of age as a chronological transition with a view to questioning the thinking on the dynamics of change in relation to the time of human beings. Among the questions raised are the ontological dimension and conceptual difficulties of human chronicity. The concepts examined, such as “quantification,” invite reflections on time-related aspects of human existence and the contexts that determine it. Emphasis is placed on the management of real and imaginary barriers separating ages and regulating their alternation beyond biological time.
