In recent decades, the development of the promotion and prevention of mental health issues in France has been accompanied by public authorities’ willingness to invest in parenting programs. This new type of parenting support, a product of Anglo-Saxon countries, brings about intense controversy, with public health discourse disagreeing with the discourse of a significant proportion of practitioners. This research aims to consider the various conceptions of agents specialized in parenting support in order to understand their differences. Observations were made in public health institutions and around ten agents were interviewed. The results show three ways of conceiving parenting support, themselves attached to distinct anthropological, socio-political, and interventional models.
