The aim of this study is to analyze the attachment representations of a clinical sample of ten children who live with their mother in an accommodation and social reintegration center and who have been exposed to domestic violence. As for the methodology, the Attachment Story Completion Task (Bretherton, Ridgeway & Cassidy, 1990) has been adapted in order to explore the internal operational models of these children. An observation grid has been developed to compensate for the absence of the usually recommended video recording. In our sample, the absence of the “secure” attachment representation is highlighted. Our results confirm the benefits of this type of clinical evaluation.
