Attachment security and behavioral disorders of children with ASD

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2020. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : This study aims to evaluate the relationship between the degree of attachment security and problematic behaviors of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), while controlling the moderating effect of the parental stress index and the severity level of the child’s autism. The results of the questionnaires completed by thirty-nine parents of children with ASD demonstrate that the decrease in the attachment security level of children with ASD is significantly linked to the presence of certain problematic behaviors, such as withdrawal behaviors and those associated with attention deficit disorder. As a result, the findings of this study support the relevance of using a relational intervention with families of children with ASD alongside other effective interventions.
