The aim of this study was to evaluate the behavior of parents of children under six months in their daily lives regarding their use of personal and family screens, knowing that we can currently observe the last generations of parents born without laptops or tablets. This descriptive study was conducted between June 2020 and January 2022 at the health centers of Achères (Yvelines) and Vauréal (Val-d’Oise) in France. At the same time, this questionnaire asked about other addictive behaviors, such as the use of tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, and gambling. We were able to analyze 80 % of responses and use 100 questionnaires. 55 % of the participants were first-time parents. The striking results of this analytical and prospective study in this target population were as follows: 64 % of parents believe that they have modified the organization of screen use in the home. However, 69 % of parents say they answer the phone during meals, and 53 % say they keep the television on. Parents who report smoking represent 11 % of the study population, compared to 29 % in the general population, and 25 % of them say they have used a screen to capture their child’s attention in order to take a smoke break. 59 % of respondents say the household is equipped with 3 to 6 screens for non-professional use, and 9 % of them report 6 to 10 screens.
