The family dynamics of couples waiting to have a child by AID

Par : Contributeur(s) : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2018. Sujet(s) : Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : AID concerns not only couples confronted by male infertility, but the whole family dynamic. This article looks at how the families are affected. From a comprehensive clinical viewpoint, using a semi-directive method, both the men and women in 24 couples waiting for donor insemination in a cecos have been interviewed. Led by a team of psychologists and doctors, the main objective of this research was to show the actual psychological experience and the perceived relationships between the man and the woman in each couple, both donors and receivers. Significant family dynamic elements can be identified through analysis of the interview content. These reveal how the approach to medical aid varies between family members, the effects on the narcissistic contract by breaking lineage, and the prevailing narcissistic element in filiation. The variability of the situations recounted clearly shows that aid is not just a conjugal problem but also a family matter.
