La tentative de suicide au-delà de l’acte individuel intègre une dimension collective, surtout dans les sociétés encore attachées aux valeurs traditionnelles. Pour mettre en exergue cet aspect, nous rapportons le cas d’une tentative de suicide d’un jeune homme lébou suite à une histoire d’honneur. Après trois tentatives de suicide en l’espace de 48 heures, Modou est admis en hospitalisation au service de psychiatrie du CHNU de Fann pour un suivi plus approfondi. Les entretiens menés ont fait ressortir une histoire familiale polygame marquée par des abandons, trahisons et besoins de pardon. La lecture psychopathologique de ce cas clinique met l’accent sur la place du passage à l’acte comme un substitut à la parole et sur la manière dont opère la réparation transgénérationnelle.

However, it is particular in that it often incorporates a collective dimension, especially in societies still attached to traditional values. We report the case of a suicide attempt by a young man named Lebou following a matter of honor. After three suicide attempts within forty-eight hours, Modou was admitted to the psychiatric ward of the Fann university hospital for a more thorough follow-up. The interviews revealed a polygamous family history marked by abandonment, betrayal, and demands for forgiveness. The psychopathological reading of this clinical case emphasizes the role of acting out as a substitute for speech and how forgiveness occurs through generations. Also, it is important to pay attention to the clinical particularities of the patient beyond his family history.

El intento de suicidio más allá del acto individual integra una dimensión colectiva sobre todo en las sociedades que siguen apegadas a sus valores tradicionales. Para poner el foco en este aspecto, consignamos el caso de un intento de suicidio de un joven lebú a raíz de un lance de honor. Tras tres intentos de suicidio en unas pocas 48 horas, Modú está admitido y hospitalizado en el servicio de psiquiatría del CHNU de Fann para un seguimiento más profundizado. Las entrevistas que se han llevado a cabo hacen resaltar una historia familiar polígama marcada por abandonos, traiciones y necesidades de perdón. La lectura psicopatológica de este caso clínico pone el énfasis en el lugar del paso al acto como sustituto de la palabra y sobre el modo como opera la reparación transgeneracional.
