In this article the author intends on showing how faith can be used in psychoanalytic family therapy. It regards a clinical situation where family beliefs relate to the origins of family history where various traumas exist : Armenian genocide, schizophrenia, traumatic childbirth and explosions. They are treated with faith shared within the family, in order to explain family chaos caused by twinship, for lack of having been symbolized otherwise. The author hypothesizes that faith is used in this situation, to give meaning to instances of history repeating itself because it can’t be assimilated by the family.
