Subjects affected by disability: Psychoanalytic family therapy and the institution
Type de matériel :
25
Gabriel is disabled by neurological dysfunctions such that his body doesn’t respond to any orders he gives it. The professional team is concerned by his parents’ behavior toward him. The family starts therapy, but a mock killing by the family needs to take place before the process of recognition of the child as a family member can start. The singular way in which the setting for family therapy is created illustrates the fundamental role of co-constructing a setting in the therapeutic process, as well as the fantasy resonance between interlocking or concomitant areas within the therapy, such as the institution and training in particular. The clinical approach gives rise to an examination of the resonance fantasies between disability and exile.
