Weaving an envelope in psychoanalytic family therapy, on the fabric of the institution

Psychoanalytic family therapy allows for the receiving of suffering from ties, and to accompany an affiliation process, especially with adopting families. This psychological work is undertaken through the formulation of the renouncement issue, including renouncing to ideals, within an intense and complex group process, which requires the involvement of both family and therapists. A clinic situation highlights how resonances between the family dynamics, the new group’s during the session, and the therapists’crossed intertransference dynamics – themselves included in a large institutional work – represent a way of elaborating.
