Biological Truth versus Homoparentality: The Status of the Step-Parent or the Civil Union of Parentage

Par : Type de matériel : TexteTexteLangue : français Détails de publication : 2009. Ressources en ligne : Abrégé : Various bills announced by the French government prolong discrimination against homosexual couples and parents. The absence of complete recognition of the rights of homosexual families is not only contrary to equality, it constitutes a break with the civil law tradition. To avoid recognition of this new form of parenthood, a political strategy is taking shape to gradually shift from the civil law principle of individual autonomy to a supposedly biological "truth". At stake is not only the equality of families, but also the political choice that will soon delimit family geography.
